Newt Gingrich, who only a couple of weeks ago, stood as a mortal threat to the “inevitable” forces of Romney, soon withered under the unrelenting “Romney-free” Superpac barrage, made possible by the now better understood Citizens United ruling (allowing that the richest guy will win and by the dirtiest means). Gingrich, who held his famous temper has now had it and is likely to launch himself and HIS Superpac into full flight this weekend in New Hampshire ads and in debate. But this will be a self destructive takedown. Because everyone knows that the nasty Newt goes nowhere in politics. Whether he will make a dent in the Bot is an open question.
